Steelers Fall As Quickly As Tiger

Last week I bashed Bruce Arians for the offensive gameplan that he had against the Ravens. If I thought he was bad last week, I have no words for what he is this week. Last night against the last ranked defense in the Cleveland Browns, Arians’ Steelers scored 6 points! Yes, 6 points! Against the 1-11 Cleveland Browns! That’s right! No touchdowns!

Whether or not all of the blame goes on Arians, it doesn’t really matter right now. What does matter, though, is the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers are almost definitely knocked out of the playoffs. This from a team that won the Super Bowl last season.

I understand that Troy Polamalu was banged up for most of the season, but when you look at a game like last night, Polamalu’s absence was not even the reason why they lost. Why? Because Polamalu doesn’t play offense. If your offense can’t generate more than 6 points against the league’s worst defense, then you don’t deserve to be playing in the playoffs.

The thing that blows my mind the most, is that an NFL team could actually lose to the Chiefs, Raiders, and Browns this season. And this isn’t the Detroit Lions we are talking about either. It is the defending champs; the Pittsburgh Steelers!

For a team to go from such highs to such lows in a matter of one season, it shows why the NFL is such a popular league amongst its fans. Anything truly can happen in any given season and on any given Sunday.

Below is a picture of Tiger Woods and Ben Roethlisberger shaking hands. Why? Because each of them has fallen from greatness in the blink of an eye. Who knows? Maybe they could learn a lot from each other and help one another get out of the low situations that they are currently in. According to the look on Ben’s face, Tiger’s situation is a lot worse than his own.
